Brand-new pavers look great when they’re first installed. The colors are vibrant, the surface is clean, and everything looks finished.
So why would you need to clean and seal them?
New pavers are not the same thing as properly prepared and protected pavers.
We recently worked on another brand-new paver project in New Port Corners in New Port Richey, Florida, and this is an area where we’ve already cleaned and sealed several new paver installations.
Our process is different from the typical “in and out in under an hour” sealing job.
New Pavers Are Thirsty
Freshly installed, unsealed pavers are extremely porous.
They can absorb sealer quickly, which is why we use products and techniques specifically suited for new, unsealed, thirsty pavers.
Using the wrong product or rushing the process can lead to inconsistent coverage, poor appearance, premature failure, or a finish that doesn’t perform as the homeowner expected.
That’s why we don’t treat every paver job the same. New pavers require a different approach than resealing older pavers.
Why Clean Brand-New Pavers?
Even though the pavers are new, installation leaves behind material that needs to be addressed before sealing.
There can be:
- Construction dust
- Fine dirt and debris
- Sand residue
- Organic material
- Manufacturing and installation residue
- Dirt tracked onto the surface during construction
Before applying sealer, we use specialized cleaners designed for the pavers’ condition.
The goal is to start with a clean surface so the sealer can properly bond and penetrate, rather than simply trapping whatever was left behind.
We Don’t Believe in the “Spray It and Leave” Method
You’ve probably seen the advertisements or experienced the service:
- “Cheap sealing.”
- “In and out in under an hour.”
- “We’ll seal your pavers in the rain.”
There’s a reason those services can be dramatically cheaper.
Paver sealing isn’t about how quickly someone can get the job done. It’s about proper preparation, the right products, application technique, and giving the sealer the conditions it needs to perform.
Our goal isn’t to sell you a yearly sealing appointment. Our goal is to perform the job correctly so you can get years of durability and protection from the work.
A Sealer Designed for New Pavers
For this New Port Corners project, we used a specialized sealer designed for new, unsealed pavers.
Because these pavers were fresh and thirsty, the sealer could properly penetrate the surface, enhancing the appearance while providing protection.
The finished look gives the pavers an enhanced, glossy appearance, bringing out the color and making the new installation look even better.
More importantly, the homeowners aren’t signing up for the idea that their pavers need to be sealed every year. When done correctly, professional sealing provides lasting protection.
Why Our Process Is Different
- Prepare the surface correctly.
- Use the right product.
- Apply it correctly.
- Don’t rush the process.
We’re not competing to be the company that gets in and out the fastest. We’re competing to be the company that does the job right.
When you’re investing thousands of dollars in a new paver driveway, pool deck, patio, walkway, or outdoor living area, saving a few dollars on sealing doesn’t necessarily save money.
A rushed or improperly performed sealing job can create problems that are much more expensive to correct later.
Protect Your Investment From Day One
If you’ve just installed new pavers in New Port Corners, New Port Richey, Trinity, or the surrounding Tampa Bay area, don’t wait until the surface starts looking dirty, faded, or weathered before thinking about protection.
Professional cleaning and sealing can help protect your investment while keeping your new pavers looking their best.
And when you choose Paver Restoration of Florida, you’re choosing a company that understands that new pavers require a different sealing process than old pavers.
We’ve been cleaning since 1996 and sealing pavers since 2010.
We don’t rush the job. We don’t seal in the rain. And we’re not trying to sell you a sealing appointment every year. We want to do it right the first time.

New Pavers Deserve More Than a Quick Spray
Your new pavers are an investment. Don’t trust them to someone whose biggest selling point is how quickly they can leave.
